and provide services in Colorado and neighboring Rocky Mountain states.

General Contracator Services: Tarryall River Log Homes (TRLH) can provide complete building services in Park and Teller counties, Colorado. We will provide building services as a subcontractor directly to you or your General Contractor (GC) anywhere else in Colorado or the Rocky Mountain region. If you plan to act as your own GC, the construction of your home will require the services of many different subcontractors including: excavation, well & septic, foundation/flatwork/masonry, framing/finish carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, drywall, roofing, paint & stain, floor covering, doors & windows, and landscaping. TRLH will assist you in planning your project.
Log Home Packages: The log home packages available from TRLH are manufactured by Honest Abe Log Homes (HALH), headquartered in Moss, Tennessee (located north of Nashville). HALH was established in 1979 and is ranked in the top 10% of log home manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada.
Packages can be tailored to your specific needs.
Service Area: As an independent dealer for Honest Abe Log Homes, TRLH currently services these counties within Colorado: Arapahoe, Chaffee, Clear Creek, Douglas, El Paso, Lake, Park, and Teller. Other areas within Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region may be serviced by TRLH in the absence of, or in coordination with, another HALH dealer.
The Logs: Eastern White Pine is the standard log species used by HALH. Western Red Cedar is available at market price. Other structural and dimensional materials are milled from Douglas Fir, Pine, or Spruce depending on specific use and engineering requirements. All materials are kiln dried, graded, and meet local building codes.
Generally, log homes come in two types, handcrafted and manufactured. Handcrafted log homes start with logs that are fitted by hand, one at a time, and are typically preassembled at the mill, disassembled, shipped to your job site, and reassembled. Manufactured log homes are milled and precut according to your design specifications and typically are not preassembled. The precise size and fit achieved by milling the logs makes assembly less labor intensive and offers more variety in wall/corner systems. TRLH provides manufactured log homes in a variety of styles, shapes, and sizes.
The Floor Plans: TRLH offers a wide variety of log homes to suit your needs. The current HALH catalog has over 65 standard floor plans ranging from 192 sq.ft. to over 4,500 sq.ft.
TRLH will work with you to produce draft floor plans of your dream home. HALH has an excellent resident engineering and design staff that can produce your drawing set. The cost of the drawing set is included in the price of your log home package. Or if you desire, your drawing set can be purchased before you commit to ordering a package. Of course, the cost of your drawing set will be credited to you when order your log home.
If you intend to build the home yourself or act as your own GC be prepared for stiff resistance from traditional lenders. If you retain the services of a GC, they can usually help steer you towards a lender that will work with you. Either way, be prepared to produce a detailed cost breakdown and schedule, and you will need to be able to cover about 25% of the project cost (not including land) out of pocket. You can usually recover some of this up front investment when you roll over to your mortgage.
